Level 1 Title About Us

Overview of the Chinese Community Social Services Centre Inc. (CCSSCI):

  • The Centre was set up and registered as an incorporated body in 1992. With a humble beginning it started as a small community-based, ethno-specific agency with a part-time worker at a shared office.
  • More than two decades later, CCSSCI is the largest government-funded, not-for-profit aged care and welfare service provider for the Chinese-Victorian community. Today, the Centre employs more than 240 workers providing a wide range of services from 5 offices.
  • CCSSCI is a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-For-Profits Commission. Our aim is to help those socially and financially disadvantaged members from our community who are in needs.
  • We cater for the Chinese-speaking people from various countries of birth, including China, Vietnam, Hong Kong SAR, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, Taiwan, Singapore, East Timor, Burma, Macau, Laos, Thailand and India.
  • From the Board of Management to the staff and volunteers, we share the same cultural backgrounds and languages with the people we serve.
  • Based on 2011 ABS Census, the Chinese-speaking community was the largest culturally and linguistically diverse community in Victoria.
