Overview
The On Luck Chinese Nursing Home is located in Donvale with breathtaking, impressive picturesque valley offering Doncaster city view. Our vision, as advocated by the Centre's President Fred Chuah, JP, is a nursing home set up by the community for the community – that caters for the linguistic, cultural, social, spiritual, dietary and health care needs of Chinese-speaking elderly.
Since 2006, On Luck Chinese Nursing Home is the only Chinese specific high level aged care residential care facility in Victoria. We provide long-term accommodation and short-term respite care (subjected to availability of places) for Chinese elderly who are no longer able to manage living at home or have specialized care needs that requires professional care 24 hours from Registered Nurses or who require palliative care or dementia specific care in single rooms, shared rooms/couple rooms or dementia specific unit.
Upon completion of our new building in 2014, On Luck Chinese Nursing Home now provides 120 residential places (30 dementia specific places), making it the largest Chinese Specific Residential Aged Care Facility in Victoria.

On Luck Chinese Nursing Home understands the joy of eating which is prominent in Asian culture. Our Chinese chefs and kitchen staff are experienced in preparing Chinese home style cooking to cater for the special dietary needs of our residents, and to strike a balance of nutrition and food enjoyment. Laundry Services
We also provide laundry services via industrial-graded washing and drying machines for residents with no additional cost. Residents are required to bring sufficient but not excessive clothing which they enjoy wearing, are easy to care for and provide comfort in all seasons. All clothing must be labelled by our laundry staff with labels that do not fade or fall off easily. Residents and families are required to purchase the labels from us for a small price. With delicate and wool clothing, we advise that families and/or friends wash these items at home to ensure the clothing are not damaged. Our nursing home does not provide hand washed laundry services and will not be held responsible for damages on the clothing.
Accreditation Standards
On Luck Chinese Nursing Home is fully accredited against the Aged Care Standards through the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (previously known as the Australian Aged Care Quality Agency). The purpose of accreditation is to ensure a consistently high level of services and care is provided to residents.
